Our Story

Lebashub was not built in a boardroom. It was built from a question every Muslim American woman has asked herself: why is it so hard to find an abaya that actually fits my life?

The problem we set out to solve

She is 28 years old. Born here. Her parents came from Pakistan, from Somalia, from Egypt — from everywhere that is not here. She grew up in two worlds and she is entirely fluent in both. She follows fashion accounts on Instagram. She also prays five times a day. She wants to look beautiful. She also wants to be modest. And she has spent years discovering that most fashion brands treat those two things as opposites.

She shops at Reformation and Anthropologie for her non-abaya pieces — brands with editorial photography, clean design, a point of view. Then she goes looking for an abaya and finds… a catalogue. Bright green websites. Sizes that run three sizes too small or three sizes too big. Fabric that looks nothing like the photo. Shipping from Turkey or Malaysia that takes three weeks and arrives with a customs fee she wasn't expecting.

She deserves better. That is why Lebashub exists.

What we built

Lebashub is a modest fashion brand built specifically for Muslim women in the United States — designed with the aesthetic sensibility of modern American fashion, and the modesty standards of a woman who takes her deen seriously.

We source premium Nida fabric from trusted suppliers in Lahore, Pakistan — the same supply chain that serves luxury modest fashion in the Gulf, now accessible to Muslim women in Minnesota, New York, Texas, and California.

We fulfil every single order from Minnesota, USA, through our partner Bashir Sheikh — a member of the community who understands exactly who is wearing these pieces and takes personal pride in every order that leaves his hands. Your abaya ships within 48 hours. It arrives in 2–5 days. No customs. No weeks of waiting. No uncertainty.

Our values, plainly stated

Modesty is not a limitation. It is a design brief.
We do not design modest versions of other people's clothes. We design for modesty first, and make the result beautiful. Every cut, every sleeve length, every pocket placement starts with the question: does this serve the Muslim woman's life?

Transparency over marketing.
We tell you exactly what fabric we use, exactly where it comes from, exactly who ships it to you, and exactly what it will look like when it arrives. No vague "premium fabric" descriptions. No over-edited photographs. No surprises.

Community is not a marketing strategy.
The Muslim American community is not our target demographic. It is our home. We are building this brand from within it — not selling into it from outside. Every piece we make is made for women we know, love, and share a faith with.

Real service from real people.
When you email hello@lebashub.com, a human being responds. When you have a sizing question, we answer it personally. When something goes wrong with your order, we fix it without asking you to fill out a form.

Where we are going

Right now, we have a focused collection of pieces designed for the American Muslim woman's real life — everyday abayas, workwear, occasion pieces, and summer styles. Every piece is chosen because it solves a specific problem she actually has.

We are growing carefully, not fast. New designs come when they are ready — not because a quarterly calendar demands them. We would rather have five perfect abayas than fifty average ones.

And we are listening. Every email, every review, every Instagram comment about fit and fabric and what you wish we made next — we read it, we discuss it, and we act on it. This brand grows in the direction you point it.

A personal note

Building Lebashub from scratch — sourcing the fabric, finding the right fulfilment partner, building the store, writing every word — has been an act of faith in the most literal sense. Faith that Muslim American women deserve a brand built with the same care and intention they bring to everything else in their lives. Faith that modesty and modern design are not opposites. Faith that a small brand with the right values can earn a place in your wardrobe and your trust.

جزاكم الله خيرا for giving us that chance.
