Size Guide — Find Your Perfect Fit
Finding your perfect fit
Size Guide
We designed our abayas specifically for women in the USA — longer, more generous, and cut for real American proportions. This guide will help you find the right size on the first order.
The single most important rule: when in doubt, size up. A slightly larger abaya will drape more beautifully and look more elegant than one that fits tightly. Modesty and flow go hand in hand.
How to measure yourself
Bust
Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it horizontal and parallel to the ground. Do not pull it tight — you want to measure your actual size, not compress it.
Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of your torso, usually about an inch above your navel. Stand naturally — do not suck in.
Hip
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, typically 7–8 inches below your waistline. Stand with your feet together for an accurate reading.
Height
Stand straight against a wall without shoes. Mark the wall at the top of your head. This measurement is crucial for getting the right abaya length.

Important sizing notes for USA customers
We cut longer. Most abayas on the market are designed for women between 5'1” and 5'4” — the typical height in South Asia and parts of the Middle East. At Lebas Hub, we add 3–4 extra inches to every size compared to international standards, because the average Muslim woman in the USA is taller and deserves an abaya that actually reaches the floor.
We cut generously. Our abayas are designed to drape and flow, not to fit like a fitted dress. If you are between sizes, always go up. A size M that drapes loosely looks more elegant than a size S that fits snugly.
Tall sisters (5'7”+). We recommend sizing up one size for additional length. At 5'9” to 5'11”, consider our XL or 2XL. If you are above 6'0”, please message us before ordering and we will advise personally.
Plus size sisters. Our plus size cuts are not simply scaled-up smaller sizes. We adjust shoulder width, sleeve length, and hem width proportionally to ensure the abaya drapes beautifully at every size.
Style-specific fit notes
Open front / kimono abayas: These are designed to be worn open over any modest outfit. They are cut wide at the body, so fit is less critical than for closed styles. Measure your shoulders and arms rather than your waist for the best fit.
Closed abayas: Measure your bust and hips carefully. The abaya should drape freely past these points without any pulling or tightness. If your measurements fall between sizes, size up.
Butterfly / batwing abayas: The sleeve measurement is the most important here — the wings should extend from shoulder to below the wrist. If your arms are longer than average, size up.
Co-ord sets: The top and trousers come in the same size. The trouser waistband is elasticated for comfort across a range of measurements. Measure your bust and hips and use whichever is larger to determine your size.
